These pictures are both from 2010; the first, from New Year's Day, shows a frightened cat who not long before had been rescued from a hoarding situation.
Below it, the second shows her at the end of July, and below that, a link that leads to a little video featuring her, trusting and comfortable.
Here's the story that accompanies the video at the link above.
This is Eloise the cat last November, as described by Tabby's Place lead blogger Angela T.:
"Eloise and Lady Grey came from a house with approximately 40 cats, only to be whisked away, in their golden years, to this strange haven called Tabby's Place.
(Under the couch) is where we always find them. And, when confronted with a well-meaning, cooing human bean, this is how they always react."
"Dainty Eloise hasn't seen fit to emerge from her subterranean lair just yet...but as you can see in this video, that doesn't mean she isn't making progress."
Now it's surprising not to see a certain angelic, roly-poly face turned up to greet you as you enter the room."
"The 'Weez is done with being an undercover cat...
And that video: this is Eloise last Friday.

Postscript: soon after, Eloise was adopted by a Tabby's Place volunteer, where she lived, contented and well-loved, for the rest of her life.
