Tabby's Place at 20 - Throwback Thursday: Sonora

In early 2015, this little cat was rescued from the outdoors and brought to Tabby's Place.  Alone, she had somehow survived one of the coldest, snowiest winters in recent memory.  She was a survivor.

She also had a chronic upper respiratory infection, and she trusted no one.  The animal control officer who rescued her said that she was so wild, she could never be anyone's pet.

The name given to her was Sonora.

My wife Pat and I brought her home as a foster on April 4, 2015.

We both worked to socialize her over the following month.  As an intelligent survivor cat, she quickly learned to trust us, faster than anyone could have expected.

By now, you may have guessed that we adopted her.  We renamed her Nora, and nearly nine years later, she is an important part of our family, content and well-loved.  We're thankful that she was rescued and that Tabby's Place gave her a place to get better.
